🌱CROPPING DECISIONS IN A RISKY ENVIRONMENT
🌱Timing. Rotation. Nitrogen. Climate.
ONLINE WORKSHOP
Thurs April 9
1-2pm
The decisions we need to make in the lead up to seeding feel increasingly risky.

Please share. 🙏🏼
Day3 of doing dumb things. Burning $3/L diesel, canola seed @ $50/kg, MAP @ 1,160/t. High stakes game but good subsoil moisture and MJO moving to dry phase pushing the decision to get the show moving now
FUEL & FERT WEBINAR: Tomorrow morning, 8am, GPSA is hosting a Webinar with industry experts @Fertilizer56655@GrainGrowersLtd and @Episode3net to keep SA grain producers up to date on the latest fuel and fertiliser supply and price movements in the lead up to seeding. You'll have an opportunity to ask questions of presenters during the Webinar. Register: bit.ly/FuelandFert
Managed to scoot over to Esperance for the #grainautomate workshop last week. Was good to chat with innovative growers automating different parts of the farm for more efficient use of time. Give the GrainAutomate facebook page a like to follow along/learn facebook.com/share/g/1BvoW5u…
Soil amelioration, sometimes you question your sanity. Other times you just look at the results with a smile. 1st vid- this years spading, struggling to establish. 2nd vid was where we spaded around a trial last year and sowed straight through the trial this year
Thanks to @AmeliaMulcahy7 for making the trip out to the Yorke Peninsula to visit GPSA Director James Venning’s farm for the @7NewsAdelaide weather forecast

An opportunity awaits for someone to join us this seeding running amelioration equipment. Experience not required but some machine experience preferred. Eagerness to learn and a great attitude essential. DM for more info or email barungagrains@gmail.com
Can someone explain to me why SA has the cheapest grain in the country ? Dry year, less grain around and heap of shipping capacity. In previous years we are told we can’t participate in highs due to shipping capacity. Very easy to buy and execute before northern hemisphere crop🤔
A very interesting and informative read. With the busy modern life sometimes you struggle to find 5 minutes to sit down and read a book. But this one made it pretty easy. Highly recommend. Well done @Voz_Dennis
A big shout out to @lachiekoch1 who fresh faced, straight out of school came to us as a harvest casual in 2019. 5 years later and he’s making his way home to take on the family farm. We will miss having him around and he’s had an everlasting impact on what we do here!
I’m a big believer there’s no such thing as good luck just a combination of preparation and opportunity. But frost takes the cake this year for bad luck. Swales stem frosted halfway through grainfill. Spaded dunes untouched. Thanks to @OsterCharlie for mowing it down
Dont forget our spring trials tour is on this Wednesday afternoon 🌾 great range of speakers and topics! See you at 1:30pm - non members welcome, you can become a member on the day 🤗
