unfortunately my short term way of thinking is fucking me over even if in a few years it wont matter because i need to get out of here first to proceed in making it not matter but theres no motivation to leave
The issue isn't exactly with looking at animal behavior and reflecting that on our human experience but rather on expecting the animal to adhere by human standards at any small sign of intelligence or self awareness
People taking OBVIOUS character flaws and claiming that it’s evidence of bad writing genuinely baffle me. Like, does it need to be spelled out for you? Does there need to be a giant sign saying that this character is wrong?
