Listen pal, I grew up watching Robbo, Hughes, Norman Whiteside, Lee Sharpe, Brian McClair, Pally and Bruce
Then came Giggsy, Cantona, Keano and the class of 92.
It’s got fuck all to do with disrespecting Keane, a player that did so much for our club and set such high standards for himself and those around him, he was our captain, a true leader, aggressive and fearless but that type of player is lost to history, these days you get sent off for touching a hair bobble but you’ve still got Roy Keane having a brain aneurysm at half time, screaming “ smash him, where’s your passion, your pride, your character”
People are tired of his constant negativity
That passion pride and character Keane demands is a succession of Red Cards in the modern game
Roy Keane ended careers, walked out on his country during the World Cup, fought with players week in week out, if it wasn’t Viera, it was shearer, if it wasn’t shearer it was somebody else, but the reality is you CAN NOT behave the way Roy Keane did in the modern game
There is not one Roy Keane left in the fucking game, it’s been eradicated entirely
This “Roy Mean” persona is tiresome, even for someone like me who idolised him his entire career
That game is dead and buried replaced with Tika Taka football and expected goals and assists
At the end of the day the moment Keane and Gary fucking Neville were given a mic it was curtains for modern day United.
Their aloof sense of superiority eerily reminiscent of Alan Hansen in the 80’s 90’s and we all know how that panned out for the great Liverpool
I simply don’t have the time to describe all the ways these two guys have perpetually criticised and ridiculed every squad member and manager since Fergie retired, even their own team mate Ole - that broke my heart
It’s pretty fucking evident that these two have taken it too far, so far in fact they’ve monetised it into various different podcasts and shows dedicated to how scathing they can be, such is its popularity with idiotic fans who can’t think for themselves, the most boring man on earth in Paul Scholes is trying his hand at it, throwing in Nicky Butt for good measure
It’s a revenue stream for these lads - I get it
I’ve said to my lads for 10 years straight, Gary Neville and Roy Keane are the two most dangerous men outside of the club, their perpetual criticism won’t allow us to move on
They didn’t listen - They totally get it now
