Fantastic to be part of this study that adds a new type of ubiquitin chain to the mechanism of pattern recognition receptor signalling. ANKIB1 is required for PRR-driven interferon production and has a broad impact on antiviral immunity. nature.com/articles/s41556-0…
Excited to share our new work uncovering a previously unknown mechanism identifying ANKIB1 as the E3 ligase that writes a critical new letter of the ubiquitin code central for immune signalling: K11-linked ubiquitin nature.com/articles/s41556-0…

Babies like garlic flavoured breast milk, drink more of it, and suckle longer when given it, according to a study that won the paediatrics prize at the 2025 Ig Nobel awards. The annual awards are for studies that “first make people laugh, and then think” bmj.com/content/390/bmj.r197…

Analyzing over 44 million US medical records, University of Virginia researchers found that patients hospitalized with severe COVID infection had a 19% higher risk of developing lung cancer. These findings of SARS-CoV-2’s oncogenic potential adds to recent evidence that SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses can trigger rapid metastatic growth of breast cancer cells in the lungs within two weeks of infection. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

Claims that vaccines haven’t been tested against placebo are demonstrably false. We’ve documented 661 inert placebo-controlled trials (e.g., saline), including 503 for childhood vaccines. 100% of routinely recommended childhood vaccines have undergone placebo testing.

Fantastic new paper by Reese Richardson et al. "The entities enabling scientific fraud at scale are large, resilient, and growing rapidly." An enormous amount of work showing the extent of coordinated scientific fraud and involvement of some editors. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.24…

The modern cardiovascular drug development landscape has been largely shaped by human genetic studies. Emerging IL-6 targeting therapies are a landmark example. In this @Circ_Gen paper with the @TourmalineBio team (developing an anti-IL6 antibody for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease), we review how genetics pinpointed IL-6 signaling as a causal driver of athero-inflammation👇

Tremendously crass to platform him at a time that measles cases are surging in the UK. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8j1…
Appalled to see the Telegraph giving Aseem Malhotra a platform today. He has spread increasingly dangerous vaccine misinformation with impunity. ⁦@gmcuk⁩’s failure to remove him from the register is every bit as appalling. A spineless dereliction of duty.

The culling and replacement of #ACIP at RFK's behest is shocking, sure. However, what we absolutely MUST NOT forget is that the long-term aim of this 💩 is to normalise the adoption of fringe, politically driven "scientific views" into mainstream policy, now and in the future.

If you think about how statistics works it’s extremely obvious why a model built on purely statistical patterns would “hallucinate”. Explanation in next tweet.

Led by Vijay Kuchroo and Oleg Butovsky, our group just published a paper in Nature showing treatment of Alzheimer’s disease by TIM-3 mediated regulation of microglia: tinyurl.com/5572mfb9. Immunology plays a major role in AD over and above anti-amyloid therapy. Very exciting!
