This gets to the heart of the issue: ‘It is not so much that we lost our hedges since 1945, it is that lost the human resource to manage hedges properly.’ We need more hedgelayers, not just more hedges. (11/12)

Films set in the future seriously underestimate the number of memorial benches around. By 2150 they will have got about 17.2% ground coverage.

Nice article, sadly we’re not acknowledged as the inventors, makers, and continuing developers of these artificial rock pools. We have a decade of designing habitat for sea defences under our collective belts….but hey-ho, tomorrow’s silicon chip paper! 🤷‍♂️ theguardian.com/environment/…

Another quick reminder, just because it doesn't talk doesn't mean it's not intelligent [This can also refer to multiple things]

STAGE 4 lobsters 🦞🦞🦞🦞🦞 We are getting closer to being ready to start our release program and these stage 4's (post larval) are a huge step closer to becoming strong enough to get back to the sea! Progress feels good 😊 #conservation #lobsters

It’s started! Today I spoke to the manager of a small garden centre & they totally understood the issues of Laurel. They will now look to take this further. I’m hoping this will be my first outlet to stop selling it! #NoLaurelWorc @NaturalEngland @DefraNature @WorcsWT

Many water beetle make sounds underwater, but the most famous in the UK is probably Hygrobia hermanni, the Screech Beetle. When caught in a pond net, or otherwise alarmed, it will make a loud rasping sound by rubbing its abdomen against it's wingcases to startle predators
