This is uncomfortable to admit, but it is consistently true. Smart people are the easiest to trap. Not because they lack ability, but because their intelligence becomes a shield that protects them from action. The smarter someone believes they are, the more they demand certainty before moving. They want to understand everything, predict everything, and eliminate every possible downside before they begin. That demand quietly ruins them. While they are researching, comparing, and refining their mental models, other people are already in motion. Those people are not necessarily more talented or insightful. They are simply willing to move with incomplete information and learn in public. Intelligence, when paired with hesitation, becomes a liability.

$100k a year is not rich. After tax it’s ~$70k. After rent, food, bills it’s ~$20k. One bad year wipes you out. That’s not wealth. Argue with the wall.

$1m is a lot of money if you don’t have it. $1m is not a lot of money once you hit it.
