My non-spoilers review of MK2 movie! Music: It was very sad that the music was pretty bland and underwhelming to the amazing visuals and fighting sequences. I would have preferred the techo vibe of old and actually played the MK music in the movie. The music was serviceable but generic which was a let down for me personally. Story: It was pretty good imo. Better than the first movie for sure. I was engaged with many of the characters and Katana was a major highlight for me personally along with Barraka! Cage was amazing too. Fight scenes: Holy shit did this deliver way more than the first one. I was hooked on almost every single fight scene in this movie! Imagine if the music was better... ohh man so so good! 10/10 of the fight scenes and fatalities! Characters: I thought it was very well for almost a 2 hour movie and seen Shao Khan in the movie was just amazing and terrifying. What a great job the actor did in that role! Lui Kang was just even more amazing in this movie. The fire and dragons were just chefs kiss! Barraka was such a huge win that I didn't expect to love his character as much as I did! He felt very fleshed out in the short time he was on screen and could have been used as a Sindeel sort of way and wasn't... couldn't be more appreciative of that fact. Katana was the best for me probably along side Johnny. Both of those characters were just so cool and had rich backstories. Absolutely loved them. Raiden was a letdown for me personally. He's just a figure head and doesn't do anything. He is such an epic character for him just to sit there and do nothing the whole movie. Hope that changes. Overall, I would give this movie a 9/10 which is insane for a MK movie. What a great job to the team, director and actors who knew the mission of the movie and executed accordingly. I really hope we get a 3rd one with even more fighting, more characters, more blood and action. This movie deserves your time if your an MK fan. Don't sleep on this movie...
