As ever, very balanced from Dan:
โ@ElonMusk is the Thomas Edison of our generation and @SpaceX also has no other comparable in the technology industry at this scale.โ
BUT:
โI believe the risk vs. reward is very poor at these valuation levelsโ
Interesting observations Simon and Iโve also been adding - despite Wise not being my typical sort of investment, it seems like a force to be reckoned with and having used their services for quite a few years now Iโm impressed. #WISE
Great to have attended @MelloEventsUK this week despite feeling a bit under the weather. Not a drop of ๐ท consumed!
Lots of familiar faces to talk shop with and great to listen to various companies plus fund managers such as Richard Staveley and Chris Mills. Recommended โ
Tomorrow we ride.
Not just for the love of motorcycles, but for the fathers, brothers, sons, and friends we refuse to lose in silence.

Nexus Infrastructure plc #NEXS interims tomorrow. Iโve got a modest holding acquired over recent months. Huge potential for Tamdown to deliver substantial profits vs current mcap but market sentiment is near rock bottom and geopolitics / inflation / Vistry wobbles isnโt helping.
Is this a clue regarding the likelihood of the California contract renewing, at least in some formโฆ
If not, it seems an ill-timed recruitment drive ๐ #KOO ๐
Adding more Kooth #KOO ahead of results next month.
The tone of this doesnโt seem to imply Soluna is going to be pulled from California any time soon. ๐

I donโt tend to tweet much nowadays re: shares - something Iโm hoping to correct in 2027.
To generate some discussion, I have interims tomorrow from long term holding #SNWS and would be interested in views on the cost of diesel impacting them? This was flagged to me by another investor friend.
Final mile is contracted out to self-employed drivers with their own vans but will still have an impact as contractors will ultimately demand higher rates.
Warehouse distribution was trialed by mgt using EVโs but their own (small) fleet is primarily diesel.
Iโd expect fuel costs to be perhaps ~ยฃ25m a year or around 25% of distribution costs at a guess, but looking back at the 2022 fuel spike when diesel hit ยฃ1.90 it didnโt really impact the group, albeit it was only a temporarily spikeโฆ
A longer term high fuel price could potentially hit them for ~ยฃ10m until they renegotiate contracts with the publishers, but some of these contracts run until 2029 before renewal.
Given the Groupโs solid cash generation none of this is going to break them but itโs a potential unwanted headwind.
Look forward to any informed comments!

King Charles speech was a master class, trump was humbled whoever thought of gifting the HMS Bell is a genius. In one small gift the President has been knocked back a peg or two and has been reminded of how UK and it's allies all stand shoulder to shoulder when it actually counts
Of interest to #SNWS shareholders:

Nice to see @ShoreCapital have initiated a note on #MSI albeit no forecasts just yet.
Whilst itโs my 2nd largest holding Iโm a little conflicted as short term (12m) performance may be underwhelming, yet longer term (24-36m) the outlook continues to look v promising. Patience!
Warren Buffettโs concerns about AI:
โEven the people who are smartest about it say they don't know where it's going. It's one thing to say you don't know where you're going if you're Columbus and can always turn around and go backโฆbut the genie is out of the bottle.โ
Results pretty much as flagged in the prior TU. As always we are looking into the future. Good to see UK contracts being executed ๐

Warren Buffett: โ90% of the people that buy stocks don't think of them the right way. They think about them as something they hope goes up next week.โ

Iโm not a LBC fan particularly as like most media outlets they like to dramatise, but this interview truly is a disgrace. Iโm highly embarrassed and genuinely concerned at the state of our military, particularly given events since 2022. We really are in a desperate situation. ๐ฎโ๐จ
How many frigates and destroyers does the UK have at its disposal?
Defence Secretary John Healey can't seem to tell @NickFerrariLBC with any certainty.
