This month saw changes in the dynamics on the frontline in Ukraine’s favor. We are holding more positions and inflicting more damage. The impact of our long-range sanctions against Russia has been especially significant. Today, I approved our long-range action plans for June.

The U.S. remains engaged in the diplomatic process. It is clear that the war in Iran is now drawing the greatest attention from America and the U.S. President, but there is a priority there, as well as the support of the American people: to end this war in Europe too. It is Russia’s war that is having a global impact on technological change – on the fierce development of the technology of warfare itself. Because of this Russian aggression, killings have become more large-scale, and threats more dangerous – especially everything related to drones. Many partners understand this – 20 countries are already working with Ukraine at various levels to conclude Drone Deals with us. We have already reached political arrangements with some countries – contracts with manufacturers will follow, and our military expertise is already yielding results. We will soon sign political agreements with some other countries. We have also begun preparations for the Drone Deal with Canada. This is a very significant expansion of our security cooperation. Both on the American track and in Europe, we are doing our best so that we can produce enough anti-ballistic missiles here in Ukraine or jointly with partners. This is our constant task – additional missiles for air defense.

We thank the United Kingdom, Canada, and the European Union for their important sanctions decisions targeting Russian entities and individuals involved in the abduction of Ukrainian children. The United Kingdom has now imposed restrictions on 85 individuals and legal entities. They are the ones involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children, the imposition of Russian ideology on them, their russification and militarization, as well as Russian propaganda operations. Canada is imposing sanctions on another 23 individuals and five organizations. They are responsible for the illegal deportation and forced transfer of our children, including their ideological indoctrination and militarization. The European Union’s sanctions package includes 16 individuals and 7 organizations involved in the systematic illegal deportation and transfer of Ukrainian children to the Russian Federation, followed by forced adoption and re-education. These are the ones who “rewire” the identity of Ukrainian children, help make them hate their homeland, and one day take up arms to fight against Ukraine. I am grateful for this principled position and for the fact that sanctions pressure is not stopping. Our partners have taken into account many of our proposals, including provisions from Ukraine’s sanctions package introduced several weeks ago. We must continue working together to bring all Ukrainian children home and to ensure that everyone behind these crimes is held accountable.

There was a report from our military and the Minister of Defense on the results from April. We have strong results in eliminating the occupier. Russia suffers significant personnel losses every month – with over 35,000 killed and badly wounded in April. There is clear evidence for each strike. The Defense Forces of Ukraine are maintaining a stable level of protection of our positions. The task is to build on these results. The number of middle strikes has also grown significantly. There are now twice as many strikes at distances of 20 kilometers compared with March, and four times as many compared with February. And there will be even more. This is a priority area. It is absolutely essential to increase the number of robotic missions. In April, UGVs carried out more than 10,200 logistical and evacuation missions, and this is a significant result. But given the scale of the front, much more of this work is needed. Accordingly, contracting UGVs, their production and supply to the troops must continue to grow. May must deliver higher figures, and this has been set as a target indicator for the military and the Ministry of Defense. We will continue to ramp up production of all types of drones and robotic systems. I thank everyone who contributes to this result every day.
