Definitely agree that Shadow Ticket in many ways is like a greatest hits of “Gravity’s Rainbow” and the other detective novels he’s written. Formally fantastic, as always, but it’s not treading any new ground
Disliking this book so much itched me, so I reread it. My more balanced take is the radio-play texture is gorgeous and the Milwaukee section is great (especially having grown up there for 7 years), but no ideas are really developed and the second half is a weak GR “Zone” rehash
