While Pete Hegseth plays identity politics with the military he's supposed to lead, veterans like Rebecca Bennett are stepping up to run for Congress and actually fix it. Hegseth is a disgrace to the office he holds. @RebeccaForNJ07 is running to hold him accountable.

BREAKING: In a shocking maneuver, Senate Republicans just BLOCKED a Democratic effort to BAN federal troops from entering polling stations or seizing ballots or voting machines. Makes you wonder what they’re planning this November…

For weeks, Trump promised that a deal with Iran was "right around the corner," and yet here we are with no clear exit strategy, and no plan for how to move forward. It's almost like they didn't have one before they started dropping bombs...

My Republican colleagues need to listen to veterans. We must pass the Major Richard Star Act to ensure combat-injured veterans receive the benefits they have rightfully earned & deserve—a measure that Senate Republicans have blocked 6 times now. substack.com/home/post/p-201…

To pass the Major Richard Star Act we shouldn’t have to cut benefits from other veterans. Republicans are blocking a vote with this false narrative.

Senator Slotkin just showed us what real leadership looks like by voting against the NDAA. Veterans across the country have made it clear they don't support funding a Pentagon that is sending our troops into reckless forever wars. @SenatorSlotkin has our back. We've got hers.
This week, I voted against the NDAA passing out of the Armed Services Committee. I did so because this budget provides $1.15 trillion in funding to the Pentagon and does nothing to address the elephant in the room, which is President Trump’s war in Iran. By some estimates, that war is costing American taxpayers $1 billion a day. Additionally, this budget’s high price tag comes as the President has cut healthcare, food assistance, cancer research and other programs vital to Michiganders. While I am a no out of committee, I am keeping my options open for support when the NDAA comes to the floor of the Senate. This is a tough vote for me, because I worked hard to secure key wins for Michigan, including $200 million to build a new F-15EX hangar and fix the runway at Selfridge, and $4.4 million to a joint training center at Camp Grayling. I also worked to include my AI Guardrails Act which for the first time will set left and right limits on the Pentagon’s use of AI, a full ban of Chinese vehicles on U.S. military bases both at home, like at Selfridge and Battle Creek, and abroad, as well as our bill to cover cancer screenings for federal firefighters.

The last thing Americans want right now is boots on the ground in the Middle East. House Democrats and 4 Republicans already voted to stop this by passing a War Powers Resolution. Now it's the Senate's turn to act so we can end Trump's reckless war of choice for good.

House and Senate Republicans had no plans to pass the Major Richard Star Act. With the discharge petition—330 cosponsors in the House, the veterans community's top priority—just 5 signatures from forcing a vote. Republicans introduced this package to distract and delay benefits for combat veterans.

My vote against this year's defense authorization came down to priorities. While families in Arizona and across the country are struggling to afford groceries, housing, health care, and other basic necessities, this administration is asking taxpayers to spend more than $1 trillion without a clear strategy or explanation of how it makes Americans safer. More money is not a strategy, and taxpayers deserve transparency and accountability for every dollar Congress spends. We're already seeing the consequences of that kind of thinking with Donald Trump’s war in Iran. After promising to keep America out of another war, Donald Trump launched a military operation without clearly explaining the mission, the end goal, or what comes next. As a Navy combat veteran, I have complete confidence in our servicemembers. The question is never whether they can do the mission. It's whether the mission makes sense, makes us safer, and what it's going to cost. I don't believe this administration has answered those questions and we cannot write them another blank check. I’m proud of the Arizona priorities and national security provisions I helped advance in this bill, including investments at Arizona military installations, accountability for the military’s use of AI, support for next-generation technologies, and improvements for servicemembers and military families. I’ll continue working with anyone—Republican or Democrat—to strengthen our national security and support the men and women who serve our country.

The Major Richard Star Act would end the "wounded veteran tax." Republicans just wrapped this bill inside the "Take Care of America's Veterans Act," and chose to "pay for it" by SLASHING disability benefits for a much larger group of veterans. The VA estimates the cuts could affect 1.5 million veterans and reduce future disability compensation by $57 billion over 10 years. Conditions like tinnitus and sleep apnea, both common in combat veterans, would face new rating restrictions. As a medically retired combat veteran, Tristeza is one of the veterans the Richard Star Act was written to help. But she understands there's no fairness in robbing one disabled veteran to pay another. Share this post and tell Congress to pass the standalone Richard Star Act, without selling out other veterans to do it.

RM @RepMarkTakano's discharge petition is five signatures away from forcing a clean vote on the Major Richard Star Act in the House. To prevent that from happening, Republicans introduced a new package to distract and delay a vote on the overdue benefits for combat veterans. 🔗: democrats-veterans.house.gov…

After BILLIONS of our tax dollars have gone to funding the War in Iran. Republicans are trying to change disability ratings so they can nickel and dime the veterans who've put themselves on the line for this country. Kayla Williams breaks it down on our Substack.

Trump's War in Iran is costing Republicans something they can't afford to lose: their own voters. Conservative families in Arizona are telling @Mendoza4AZ that they won't vote for a single Republican this November.

In 2018, I ran for Congress for the first time alongside a group of women who had served their country and were running to serve it again. You’ll recognize their names – Chrissy Houlahan, Elaine Luria, Mikie Sherrill, and Abigail Spanberger. This cycle, we have amazing women running with the same service backgrounds and the same sense of purpose. Women who served. Women who are ready to lead. I’m excited to endorse four of them today: @ElaineLuria, @RebeccaForNJ07, @KillinforCO, and @Mendoza4AZ. Combined, they bring decades of military service to some of the most competitive House races in the country. Navy. Marines. Army. All of them have already answered the call once, and now they're doing it again. I know all of them believe that the same standard of accountability in the military belongs in Congress. I'm proud to support them. I hope you'll join me.
