From the Balkans to the World 🇦🇱
The fustanella was worn by Albanians wherever they lived.
Known throughout the Ottoman Empire as Arnauts, Albanians carried their traditions from Albania, Kosova, Çamëria and the Albanian minority of Greece to Turkey, Egypt, Italy, Croatia, Ukraine, and beyond.
Whether called Albanians, Arvanites, Arbëreshë, Arbanasi, Arnauts, or by other local names, they preserved their identity, language, customs, and traditional dress across generations. We call ourselves SHQIPTARË/SKIPETARË.
The fustanella is more than a garment, it is a symbol of an Albanian people whose history stretches across continents and whose heritage lives on wherever Albanians have settled.
One people. Many names. One heritage. 🇦🇱🦅
