Day 4 of #CNext2024 ! The weather in Berlin is holding sunny and stunning, and I feel like my brain might explode from all the information I'm absorbing. Massively enjoying myself ☺️
ALT This is a photos taken at the top of a staircase, looking down into the expo hall of Classical Next conference. The expo hall is in a large bright cinema foyer space with large white pillars, a high ceiling and some exposed brick walls. There are expo stalls on the floor, and people are milling around.
Here are some highlights from Days 1-3 at @ClassicalNEXT . So enjoying getting to know Berlin and lots of new colleagues. Let's keep learning - we're stronger together than we are apart #CNext2024
ALT This is a photo of the Pierre Boulez Saal, a concert hall in Berlin. It is a large round room with a stage that is lower than the seating. The seating is raked, and surrounds the stage on all sides. The flooring is a light polished wood, and there is a drum kit and harp visible, among other instruments.
ALT This is a photo of Dorothee Kalbhenn and Kian Jadzi delivering a talk in front of a projection screen. The screen reads "Thoughts: The institution sets the frame. But it is the single person that can start the change and give a new shape to the frame"
ALT This is a photo of the Ligeti Quartet performing on stage, taken from the audience perspective. The stage is lit, and behind and above the performers there is a projection screen. The projection screen has round shaped orange cartoon dotted insects on it.
ALT This is a photo of Gabriel Prokofiev in front of a projection screen, which reads: "Return to the Basic Questions: What do we mean by Genre-fluidity in music? How does Genre-fluidity manifest itself in musical as well as extra-musical dimensions, and how can those interact with Classical musicians and Classical spaces?
I have been having a grand old time in Berlin! I'm here for @ClassicalNEXT , and soaking up the sunshine and good vibes.
Just about to head to the keynote speech - "Shaping the Future of Opera" by Aviel Cahn. Ready to learn!
