i had a year away from the catalog and came back to yet another example of sheep mentality in the UGC space.
people act like if they don’t jump on every workaround, trend, or price cutting method immediately they’ll be “left behind” but that mindset is exactly what’s damaging the marketplace long term. everybody wants to talk about creativity, quality, and sustainability until it means turning down short term easy sales.
it genuinely isn’t hard to follow the guidelines, or at least care about what the catalog looks like in the long run when you’re mass producing these items into it. instead, people see others abusing current loopholes or cutting prices and suddenly all sense of standards disappears because “everyone else is doing it”.
that excuse has never really held up. if anything, these problems exist because people refuse to hold any standards unless they’re forced to. and the comments defending it only prove the point further it’s always about fear of missing out on short term profit rather than actually contributing to a healthy marketplace.
and the irony is it’s often the same people complaining about roblox and/or the catalog’s state who are actively feeding into what they’re criticising.
i’ve been doing this for years and it just feels like the same cycle repeating over and over again and then everyone acts surprised when the outcome is exactly what they helped create.
It's sad to see something that would've gotten deleted 2 years ago taking over the catalog. People so money hungry they have to price cut entire categories. Abusing the face mask hair price floors for a lower profit. Sad to see Roblox is going down such a downward shift.
