A motorless, flexible prosthetic foot inspired by the anatomy of the human extremity and waterproof is the new SoftFoot Pro bionic foot prototype, designed by the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT-Italian Institute of Technology) in Genoa in collaboration with Centro E. Fastest walking speed achieved by a paraplegic person in a powered exoskeleton: 0.23 m/s (0.82 km/h; 0.5 mph) by Seunghwan Kim and Team KAIST at Cybathlon ETH The record was achieved using a WalkONSuit F1 prototype developed at the KAIST Exoskeleton Lab in Daejeon, South Korea. Seunghwan Kim from South Korea says "Approximately seven years ago, I suffered a T10 spinal cord injury in a traffic accident, resulting in paraplegia. Despite this setback, I have never given up and have continued to live my life, consistently preparing for the day I might walk again." He achieved this exoskeleton speed record with Team KAIST EXOLAB at Cybathlon in Switzerland - the “bionic Olympics”, held every four years in Zurich which aims to promote the development of new and improved assisted technologies.
