Sadly we can all see that the envisioned change in procuring medicines in Botswana has failed💔. There is no greater PR than real tangible delivery on the ground. We can’t continue to be in denial or point fingers. I did share previously that Botswana is too small a player to circumvent established global pharmaceutical supply chains. We need to go back to CMS & fix it. The issue was inflated prices & hoarding of contracts to a select few. Plus the unnecessary involvement in tenders by that other useless organization. That is what we needed to focus on first! Secondly would be local distribution to medical facilities. We cant continue as a country to have BOMRA issue exemptions on unregistered products, that’s endangering matshelo a Batswana.
