'Radical Revival: The Complex Dynamics of Islam and State in Uzbekistan' by Dilsora Fozilova offers a nuanced and original analysis of the complex relationship between Islam and the state in post-Soviet Uzbekistan. Situating religious revival within the country’s historical, political, and social transformations, it reveals the paradoxical dynamics that have shaped contemporary Islamic life. bit.ly/4wRElxJ

📢 New Open Access Publication 📘 Secular Principles in Practice: The Kyrgyzstan Model ——————————————————— Aibek Akchokoev (@hace_ihu ) 📌This report examines the development of secularism in Kyrgyzstan and the transformation of the state's religious policies. Focusing on state–religion relations in the post-Soviet period, it analyzes how secular principles have been defined and implemented within a Muslim-majority society. The study explores Kyrgyzstan’s regulations concerning religion in the context of religious freedom, state neutrality, national identity, and security policies. It also investigates the evolution of the country’s approach to secularism through an analysis of the Concepts of State Policy in the Religious Sphere issued in 2006, 2014, and 2021. As the sixth publication in the HACE Report series, this report offers an assessment of secularism and state–religion relations in Central Asia through the case of Kyrgyzstan. It's the largest attack on #Kyiv since the invasion. Praying for the amazing people of this country. I'm honored to be with them tonight.

I lost count of how many rockets and drones were fired on #Kyiv tonight. Mom with a small boy in front of me in the basement closing his ears so he would not hear shots and/or explosions.

It’s a Ukrainian graffiti mural in Kyiv I came across this morning while walking outside of my hotel, it says: “Fear is not a reason not to act.” #Ukraine

New @ICCT_TheHague report by @MarcSommers & Mai Nasrallah asks a hard question: after 20 years and billions spent, has P/CVE actually prevented much? Their answer is sobering — and it matters for Central Asia. My reflection on what it means for CCRL in Central Asia lyncommunity.org/blog/icct-r…

I am deeply saddened by the shooting at the Islamic Center in San Diego. As a Christian, I mourn with the victims, their families, and our Muslim neighbors. There is no place for hatred or violence against innocent people. “Blessed are the peacemakers.” — Matthew 5:9

The approach “seems to be more corporate and led by business deals, but it should probably become more institutionalized down the road, if the U.S. wants to seriously counter China and Russia in the region, and both of those countries have more institutionalized presence in Central Asia,” politico.com/news/2026/05/12…

In December 2025, I traveled to Ukraine. Like many watching from afar, I assumed the country was barely holding on—fatigued, fractured, nearing collapse. I was wrong. 🇺🇦 lyncommunity.org/blog/ukrain… #Ukraine #freedom

Great news!
Today, we have achieved a significant result – two thousand Ukrainian children have been brought home from under Russia’s control through the @BringKidsBackUA initiative. Each of these returns was made possible thanks to the daily efforts of our people, civil society organizations, and international partners. We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to this fight for the future of our children, our country, and the entire free world. The road ahead remains long and difficult. Thousands of Ukrainian children are still held captive by Russia, becoming victims of its crimes every day. But we will not stop until every Ukrainian child is back home. #BringKidsBack
