Since 2018, @Intermountain has been walking the walk. As a proud #WalkwithaDoc champion, they’ve helped patients and employees step toward better health. In 2025, 10 programs across UT and NV brought together 2,000 walker visits focused on movement, connection, and community.

The new Walk with a Doc program in Puyallup, Washington, is off to a great start! Despite rainy weather last weekend, they welcomed more than 20 walkers ranging in age from 3 to 93. After a discussion on understanding food labels, the group enjoyed a walk around the lake.

21 years ago, Dr. Sabgir waited at the park, hopeful that patients might accept his invitation to walk. Sure enough, many did. He describes that day as “magical”, people walking side by side, smiling, asking questions, and learning that health can happen outside of the exam room.
