Stablecoins: Self-Custody vs. Real Control
When you hold stablecoins like $USDT or $USDC , you control the wallet, but the issuer may still control certain rules of the token.
Centralized stablecoins can still include issuer-level freeze functions.
That means self-custody protects access to your wallet, but it does not always protect the assets inside it from external rules.
Before you trust an asset, understand who can influence it, and under what conditions.
You get used to the friction until you try something better.
Only then do you realize how much you’ve been putting up with, and how much effort you’ve been wasting.
That’s when you start wondering why you accepted it for so long.
Treat yourself better 💚
