Daboll and Borgonzi have prior history dating back to 2012. • The Titans were well aware of how much Daboll loved Ward. Why? Sources say the Giants made a massive push last year to trade up to No. 1 for Ward, offering the No. 3 pick, a 2025 first-rounder, and multiple Day 2 picks. The Titans declined. • Titans GM Mike Borgonzi put on a full-court press to land Daboll as OC regardless of who the head coach would be. When Robert Saleh emerged as their HC choice, Saleh was already on board with Daboll. • The Bills HC job opening threw a wrench into things, as Daboll understandably had interest there. • Borgonzi and Saleh stayed persistent.
