Met a fan yesterday who came into my work and it was the happiest I've ever seen someone to meet me and it was such a nice feeling
He was super nice and asked for a photo. I said of course but asked to not throw it on socials as to not dox me lol Hope it didn't sound rude

Anyway the point of my post isn't "this is good actually" it's "I'm not getting riled up over an opinion I think so little of and this was bad business"
I have a hard time feeling defensive towards Gameoverse over this because this sort of tactic IS fair game (if tacky) and well, in the nicest way I can say this, this little teaser doesn't exactly feel like punching...down.
It simply feels like an unwise first foot forward.

Genuinely think it would be interesting if the Conduit has been buried somewhere on this planet, sealed away so it can't be used so the Ghosts don't find this universe.
For how little screen time they got, I love how terrifying the Ghosts are as a concept
I want to see the Ghosts appear at the end of Xenoblade Genesis. They are a multiverse threat.
They went from being the most mysterious species in the series to the one I'm most curious about. These things facilitate me to death, and I want to know everything about them.

Genuinely wish I could make everyone see what I see in Chapter 13 'cause I honestly found it moving
The cosmic hope on the other side of cosmic horror. Feels like people missed a lot of the answers it gave us. And it's a great payoff to the growth of this version of humanity.

The language barrier is a good example. It's not explicitly stated, but I you can infer that the [spoiler] connecting everyone and bringing all these races from destroyed worlds to Mira is at the center of everything, including how humans are alive and understand other tongues

It also just all feels so in line with the wider Xeno franchise on a conceptual level and elevates the stakes to incredible scale. The history and trauma spanning eons and realities feels so true to the way Takahashi plots things, and overcoming those threats feels incredible

Something I've been thinking about with Xenoblade Genesis
Can you even imagine living in this world? It's visually captivating and I can't wait to explore it as a player but for the characters?
Imagine looking up and not being able to think of soemthing beyond your world

No sky as we know it. The sense of mystery for those who have spent their lives here is limited and the rest of...everything to them is just there all the time. Can you imagine living in a world closed off like a prison?
Now imagine being the "fallen god" of that prison

I know the discussion right now is Xenogears, Xenogears, Xenogears! And don't get me wrong...I love that shit
But also there's so much potential to deliver such an interesting narrative and flesh out so many unique ideas here

If anything, the major thing I wanna see again are the Ghosts. XDE Chapter 13 painted these things as something genuinely scary; a force of nature acting as multiversal correctors drawn to the Zohar (Conduit) and I think there's so much room to explore these things

I think it's possible that Xenoblade Genesis can connect to the other Xenoblade games and Perfect Works lore in far-reaching ways without the self-contained and new story and characters can still matter independently and for their own reasons
