World Climate Summit & The Investment COP (
#WCSIC) in Belém convened leaders from government, business, civil society, international organisations, and academia. Over two days, one message rang clear: we’re entering a new phase of climate action that’s integrated, scalable and led by the regions closest to the solutions.
Here are the 4 biggest takeaways from WCSIC:
🔄Climate, Biodiversity, Equity & Health Are One Integrated Agenda
The era of treating climate as “carbon only” is over. We cannot achieve climate goals without healthy ecosystems, nor can we build resilient economies or communities without nature. Real solutions must be integrated, not siloed.
🚀The Global South Is an Innovation Leader, Not an Aid Recipient
The old narrative of Global South countries being “aid dependent” has flipped. Indigenous and local communities are demonstrating the most effective, scalable climate solutions from biodiversity stewardship to regenerative land management. Partnership, not patronage, is the way forward.
💹Climate Finance Must Scale at the Speed of “Moore’s Law”
We need a “Moore’s Law” moment for climate and nature. Blended finance models showcased in Belém prove that when risk is reduced, capital flows at scale. Standardised and auditable data will be essential to build trust and unlock the next wave of investment.
🏭Hard-to-Abate Sectors Are Now “Possible-to-Scale”
Steel, cement, mining, and materials are no longer “too difficult to change”. The technology exists; the barrier is coordination. With long-term offtake agreements, shared standards, and clearer demand signals, these sectors can transition at speed.
Belém showed us that the shift from pilots to systems-level scale is already underway and that the most powerful solutions are emerging from collective action, local innovation, and cross-sector coalitions.
