We're back in Kigali! π·πΌπ
Awesome to be there with our friends from the @BankofKigali Digital Factory as they unveil their newest digital experiences at the BK Stadium (it's pretty massive!) tomorrow.
Weβve come across a lot of mature products over our many years in UX, and can sadly say that the world is full of perfectly good products that are stagnating in βbusiness as usualβ mode. Read all about breaking from BAU in our latest article. β‘ buff.ly/3Dphpwm
This right here is DA BOMB. Anything that makes our accessibility champion-in-chief @burntcustard go 'yes yes yes!!' gets a strong lighthouse seal of approval.
I'm happy to share my latest project:

Hey product people (like party people but cooler), fancy a free, online community event where you can get π on your biggest design conundrums and learn how pros at big hitters would tackle them? You're going to love ManyHands! wearemanyhands.com/#ux#uxdesign#productdesign
How can you make something meaningful without knowing how itβs going to be used? You can't! We dived into how Rwandans bank in order to make the best possible product for @BankofKigali π·πΌ buff.ly/3xhD8BE
Just added some nifty continuous integration using axe (thanks @dequesystems!) and @____lighthouse (the other one π). Issues are flagged and deployment is blocked if any tests fail, so there's less chance of accessibility mishaps going live. Seems relevant for #GAAD2022 π
ALT The image shows what happens if a dev tries to merge to master with accessibility errors. An alert reads 'some checks were not successful', and below it shows a cross next to axe CI. Lighthouse CI has passed, and has a tick. Gold-coloured text reads 'required statuses must pass before merging', and there is a tick box which would allow admins to merge without waiting for requirements to be met - this is highlighted in red.
A bunch of designers watching #Config2022 keynote is like world cup final day - the excitement is palpable! *chanting* π΅ We love you @figma, we dooooo π΅
