Not sure what @RideShimano thought: makes a film anticipating MVDP’s win but then fitting a leaked new cleat sys to the bike that could have been given to MVDP in time not to drop from the main group leading to him winning another #parisroubaix and ruining Philipsen race as well?

Mathieu van der Poel may have inadvertently revealed a key detail about Shimano’s unreleased road pedals during Paris-Roubaix 🤯
The defendging Dutchman punctured twice and was forced to change bikes on the Trouée d’Arenberg, but appeared to struggle to clip into a Jasper Philipsen's bike – which we know was fitted with Shimano’s new prototype pedals 🔥
This strongly suggests the new pedals – likely called SPD-SLR – uses a different cleat design to the current SPD-SL standard ⭐️

What a race, a big take away for me is that Pogacar was found out as unable to win on a sprint against any of the big sprinters in #parisroubaix , he’ll can’t beat MVDP, WVA, or Pedersen not even Stuyven, for next year he will need some proper focus on sprinting.

Interesting piece of info that shows how much has cycling changed in the last 15 years.
The last rider on this #ParisRoubaix2024 finished 48min after the winner. Avg speed for the whole race for him was 42kmh. In 2010 winner Fabian Cancellara averaged just 39kmh
