What a turnaround. It’s nice to see the people deciding they can’t take it anymore. I wish the new government well and hope that people everywhere are able to discern which political party actually cares more about non-billionaires.

Honestly there's no reason that trainees should stay in the UK- literally undermined at every step. When a PA with no medical training and a two years masters is thought to be worth a greater salary than someone who is at the level of a consultant, then it is better for them to go work somewhere where they are valued

Does anybody else find it amusing that there are zero complaints about ORBITA 2 being too small or with too much single vessel disease or with too short a follow-up like there were with ORBITA1? What could be the difference?

Today, in @EHJ, @DLBHATTMD, Dr. Boden and I share our perspective on considering greater use of icosapent ethyl for patients with hypertriglyceridemia and atherosclerosis. We must weigh the pros and cons of each patient’s unique clinical scenario! academic.oup.com/eurheartj/a…

Thanks for the great tweetorial! Is there some way to account for competing risks?Does immortal time bias play a role even when pooling for RCTs?

What’s the reaction to the TAVR-PROTECTED Trial? Large, well-conducted international RCT of TAVR with Sentinel CEP vs no CEP. Negative composite primary endpoint & “hint” of benefit with fewer disabling strokes (NS), but one of 20 secondary EP’s. Could just be the play of chance?

Minor error in my earlier comment: disabling stroke was one of 15 prespecified secondary EPs, not 20 as I incorrectly stated. Either way, the play of chance has to be considered a likely explanation, and not the Sentinel CEP device. Excellent, balanced editorial by John Carroll!

1) Why did @SripalBangalore got it so wrong in his comparison lf STICH vs REVIVED? ….. @webmd11
1/ REVIVED BCIS2 vs. STICH. In STICH(es), CABG had a mortality benefit over MT. No such benefit of PCI vs. MT in REVIVED BCIS2. Does that mean CABG is superior to PCI in ischemic cardiomyopathy?@GreggWStone @JWMoses @SVRaoMD @ShariqShamimMD @evandrofilhobr @djc795 @ajaykirtane

As the inaugural Bob Cousy NBA East Conference Celtics take on the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals in Mission Bay, will we see fellow Holy Cross alum and inveterate Red Sox fan @HeartBobH sport a Celtics cap? Go Celts☘️!!!

If the whole point of FFR-Guided PCI is to improve CV outcomes (rather than just symptoms or hosp. for revasc, which is only a “preference decision” & not a true endpoint), why don’t we use an FFR <0.64, which is the threshold below which we do see a death/MI reduction with PCI?!

Despite Boris J’s political foibles & COVID partying improprieties, at least he had the decency and, dare I say, courage to travel directly to Kiev to meet with Pres Zelenskyy. Contrast that to Joe Biden who dares only to travel to Poland & promises yet more ineffective sanctions

Cardiology aside, as a 2nd generation Ukrainian, it has been appalling to watch the endless brutality and carnage of the Russian invasion. Now targeting hospitals, patients, and staff. Biden’s repetitive sanctions have done nothing so far to deter Putin. Shouldn’t we do more??!!

Just had the honor to present to the U of Leicester honoring Prof Tony Gershlick - A celebration of his life in interventional cardiology… and all that jazz! What a special person we lost (to Covid). His work in AMI, on EXCEL, as a mentor and physician improved so many lives.

Can you detail who is in the large group and why? Ischemia was not designed to be representative of the the real life spectrum to start with. In real like most have <10% ischemia. I am curious on how this this registry is higher risk that all other stable cad studies.

One has to wonder whether, if some 6-8 Russian oligarchs have now come forward publicly to criticize Putin and have called for an end for the Russian invasion of Ukraine, does that mean Putin will round up these rich, elitist dissidents and put them in jail?!

Sad day for Ukraine/Europe & the world with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Has special significance for me as my late mother was born there. When Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, why didn’t NATO foresee this? Zelenskyy’s personal pleas to 27 Euro countries for help today ignored.
