We 3D-scanned a C-130J prop box, built a full-scale replica, and tuned the weight to match the real load.
It was for high-fidelity training exercises, so we needed crews to feel the mass, balance, and handling of the aircraft component exactly as they would in a real-world situation.
We had to build this 300-gallon tank from scratch because we couldn't source one reliably.
This is a microcosm of the American supply chain right now: gaps everywhere.
