ohhhh - here's my 2 cents then... My prediction, is that adequately powered studies will show the benefit of Lp(a) reduction. This is based on underdstanding the work that has taken place so far, which Dr Mandrola seems to have missed.
Good question and interesting paper. 👇🏻 My 2 cents, Lp (a) is a marker more than a causal agent. I predict w low levels of conviction that Lp (a) lowering trials will be meh

Not a CMR #whycmr study - but important for awareness- yes statins increase Lp(a) a bit but despite this have a HUGE benefit for preventing cardiac disease
In the EPIC-Norfolk study (EHJ 2025, doi.org/10.1093/eurheartj/eh…), statin-induced Lp(a) rise (5–20%) increases CV risk by ~1–5% (absolute risk 0.2–1% over 20y). Yet, high-intensity statins reduce LDL-C by 50%, cutting CV risk by ~40–50% (absolute risk –15–20% over 20y). Conclusion: LDL-C lowering >> Lp(a) rise.

🆕📝shows diastolic dysfunction independent predictor of all-cause & cardiac☠️in pts w LVEF>40% post MI bit.ly/3FSa7V9 Brilliant editorial by @JaeKOh2 bit.ly/4joH2zb Why do some patients develop restrictive filling pattern while others don’t despite similar size MI? Do pts w restrictive filling or DD after AMI have abnormal ventricular filling before index AMI? Is DD from vascular dysfunction & intrinsic abnormal myocardial function from hypertrophy & fibrosis (HFpEF)? Some pts w just minor AMI develop RFP Many questions remain- await new DD guidelines from @ASE360 in 2025

An unroofed coronary sinus is a rare congenital heart defect where the coronary sinus lacks a roof, creating an abnormal communication with the left atrium, while often associated with a persistent left superior vena cava it does not have to be #ACHD ❤️‍🩹
