Really positive news after today’s incident at Widnes parkrun ❤️
The runner who took ill is doing well in hospital. His family have asked us to share this message:
➡️ “The co-ordinated efforts of everyone have ultimately saved my dad’s life.” ⬅️
Thank you to every single person who helped today — big or small. You made a life-saving difference.
If you were one of the people who provided lifesaving interventions, please email widnes@parkrun.com so we can pass on the family’s thanks.
Hi Widnes parkrunners
We are all good to go for tomorrow’s run but we are expecting to be busier than normal.
Where possible, please avoid driving down to parkrun. But where this is not possible, please refer to our handy parking guide below.

Well it wasn’t the last parkrun we had planned for Tom, but that marks the end of his stint as RD and ED at Widnes parkrun.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Tom for all his hard work and dedication to both roles over the last 5 years.
