Had the rare opportunity to stay at the TWA hotel at JFK and it was easily the best part of my brief trip to NYC.
10/10 would time travel to the 60s again.

Just wrapped up the last session of MVK. Couldn't have asked for a nicer and more talented first cohort of students. Lots to unpack, but first an overdue vacay✌️

I’ll probably never teach a fully live version of MVK again but seeing student transformations like Brittany’s has been so damn rewarding 🤩👏👏

2021 has been an eye-opening exercise in balancing presence with productivity; it also marks the first time I’m living a life that best reflects my values and disposition.

In the afternoons on days I don’t teach, I try to go on hikes with my partner. Utah has so many to offer, and sometimes we pack dinner so we can enjoy a nice meal surrounded by nature. It’s easy to cultivate calm when you live a life of calmness. I also stopped using todo apps.

Arguably most rewarding thing about running a live course is getting instant feedback on what material resonates and iterating as we go (I’m also learning a lot from everyone too in addition to spreading the good gospel of mise en place!)

MVK officially kicked off today with our first cohort of 35! Not even working two stations for brunch service on Mother’s Day prepared me for the abject terror of teaching cooking live for the first time.
