πŸ„ Candlesnuff fungus, Xylaria hypoxylon is a fungi that we have growing at some of our nature reserves and relies on dead wood to grow. Dead wood is an important habitat to have around our sites and if we don't have to, we won't remove any dead or fallen trees πŸͺ΅

🐦 One of our smallest autumn passage migrants the little stint, Calidris minuta has been spotted over the last couple of weeks at #seatonwetlands. Summer breeding in northern Scandinavia and north-west Russia and winter in southern Europe and western Africa. πŸ“Έ Pete Turner
