Great weather last night so time to survey some Corncrakes in NE Poland. Here they still are quite common & widespread so counted at least 31 males on the area of about 10 km2 of meadows. Also active Nightjars, Trush Nightingales & Warblers: River, Grasshopper, Marsh & Great Reed

And in the last nest of Curlew on Biebrza Marshes that we protect in 2026 it's time of hatching. A repeated brood, picture is from today - the third, last egg was layed between 6th to 8th May.

In Three-toed Woodpecker nesthole things are slowly changing. The chicks have hatched but are still so small that male needs to warm them up after feeding. Looks like a typical timing for this species in NE Poland & the juvs should be present until mid June - anyone interested?😉

Greenish Warbler found during 5km run in BiaƂystok city today. The picture of course taken later when I returned there with camera😅 What's more along the route as well Serins, Fieldfares, Pied Flycatchers & even breeding Red-necked Grebe on the pond!
