We're back! It's been 5 years since we stopped composing music. Things are changing. Throwback to when my track landed on the @garyvee vlog. Still proud of this one. youtu.be/JoqT14UsI54?si=xVtp…

Testing out the new Juno synth. I say new, the original was released in 1982. So here’s an 80s inspired track. Arpeggios on the bass, lots of Juno synth, and a ton of tape his for extra character. All done on the iPad while in bed 👌

90% of people will miss this tonight because they’re looking at their phones. DON’T BE ONE OF THEM. ☄️ The planets are literally aligning for us on this February 28th. A rare 6-planet alignment is happening right now, and it’s the perfect time to set an intention, make a wish, or just sit back and marvel at how tiny we really are. The universe is putting on a free show—don’t forget to look up. 🔭

Time to lose a few pounds! I always seem to pile it on over the winter.

Logic Pro Session Musicians are brilliant for practicing guitar with. Put down some drums and keys, and you can change the chords and tempo to your heart's content. Here is some alternate picking practice that I was doing this evening. It is a lick in A minor to get you from the bottom of the neck to the top. Excuse the poor MacBook camera. Always a good idea to practice with a clean sound and with gain. Both will highlight different areas of your guitar playing that need attention.

ToneX users! Here’s how I setup my app. Will work for the pedal too. Best tip I’ve got is to set your global input triple first. That’s the key. For me, with a positive grid riff interface, I have to set it to -3 to -4. Test it on a clean capture that you like until you get the right sound. Then, for each amp after that, use the amp’s gain knob and save the preset. Here’s the setup: 1. Guitar full volume 2. Interface input gain set so there’s plenty of headroom without noise 3. Adjust “input trim” or the input knob to match your interface 4. Adjust the gain knob on the amp 5. Adjust global volume

It’s strangely satisfying and meditative knowing you’ll never hear quite the same beat again.

Here's the lead tone I've got for Belief by John Mayer. Pretty happy with that! Haven't got the solo up to speed but we're getting there. ToneX using a tone model by tone junkies.

Doing a comparison between Bias FX 2 (which I've used for years) and ToneX. Which sound do you think is closer to that Continuum tone? note: I'm playing through a tele.

It’s weird making music in Logic instead of Reaper. It’s a lot more polished. Trying to figure out a workflow where I get ideas in Logic on the MacBook or iPad, then finish in Reaper on the Desktop PC.
You can just make music in your bed at 1am. What a time to be alive!

The iPad is a great tool for making music. I’ve got the pc in the garden studio. But there’s something about 1am, sitting on the sofa, half asleep while writing tunes.

First time using Logic Pro on the creator studio plan. I can see this being super useful for guitarists practising playing over chord changes.

Only just learned about .nam files and they’re blowing my mind. Any guitar players using some good ones out there? I’ve just downloaded neural amp modeler so looking for some great sounds.

Also, have ditched this and got ToneX 😅 The input gain issue was just too much effort to make it worth it.

My toxic trait is staying up until 2am playing guitar because there's not enough time to play in the day.

Neural Amp Modeler is free. Amp and pedal captures are free. IRs are free. Never been a better time to be a guitar player looking for your tone.

The neural amp modeller captures an almost perfect snapshot of an amp’s sound. And it’s free! This is a Fulltone OCD → PRS J-MOD 100 head → G12-65 4x12 cab. And finally a reverb plugin. It doesn’t look like much in the video… but the tone is spot on and responsive.
