1 in 9 trauma transfers are discharged home from the ED without further intervention... should virtual consultation become a part of trauma care? Our paper published this week suggests that virtual consultation could substantially reduce trauma care costs. We analyzed >700,000 trauma transfers, and nearly 1 in 9 were discharged home without further services.
