The SVP of Innovation at Singapore's largest university read our book. Then asked for five more copies. For his board. The reason? The promise of AI Transformation is dead simple: put in a $, get back $$$. But that only happens if you pick the right use cases. Most burn tokens and pay back nothing. Worse, you'll get cute adoption metrics that have no sway on any business outcome. That's the gap we kept hitting with enterprise CXOs: between the AI mandate and the ROI. The book aims to close it. It gives CXOs a sharp model to predict which AI use case will move the number, and which won't. Which is why the SVP asked for more copies. He wanted his whole board reading from the same playbook. The market has enough hype and snake oil. This book is our way of taking some of it away. Because AI wins only if it's a business win. Else it's just token burn.

the amateur writer in me wants to pen a story on how we discover AGI is a nihilist and there's this army of humans whose only job is to keep the AGI meaningfully engaged.

The future is already here - it's just not very evenly distributed. q.e.d
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

as @bgurley says: "Regulation is the friend of the incumbent." corollary: if you aren't running a sophisticated regulatory capture, you aren't a responsible incumbent.
About 8 months ago, I warned that “Anthropic is running a sophisticated regulatory capture strategy based on fear-mongering.” This take was controversial at the time; now look how many people are saying it.

macro patterns I see in people who can steer agents really well: capacity to delay gratification patience to figure it out some framework to build own POV. means, they were already doing things like - reading long form content, playing board-games, playing instruments, writing blogs, keeping journals.

not true always. Nuance is better metric for what? Are you measuring Adoption of AI vs Utility of AI. Good metric for former, maybe not for latter (depends on who's spending tokens) But definitely great metric for token providers.

lines of code is a better metric than people think it is. token use is a better metric than people think it is

Enterprise AGI is when tokens will look at your workflow and say, “Ew. I’m not making this faster.”

One month later we are now at 26x revenue growth from start-of-year. 14x to 26x in 1 month. We are hiring: join.realfast.ai Hint: the question about books is very important 😈 (please retweet, and do share with friends who might be interested - much gratitude)

we closed last year with low five figure revenue. in the subsequent 4 months our revenue has grown 14x.

Was talking to a workflow recently - wanted to understand their side of the story with the whole AI thing. Wanted to get their voice out for wider audience x.com/wiredmau5/status/20602…

Tokenmaxxing might accidentally do the market a favor. Once marginal token utility becomes the question every CFO is asking, the grifters get easier to spot. Because the market is moving from wonder to utility. And utility is a terrible environment for snake-oil janta. The partners who win this next phase will work more like sharp PE teams: - focused and annoying about the operating metric - ruthless about the bottleneck - very, very interested in whether the number moved

what happens when you think token spend == AI native. You being AI-Native has NOTHING to do with token spends. It has everything to do with how did those tokens end up changing something for your customers. Anyone who thinks token spends is a leading indicator of an AI-native team -- ngmi.
