I'm now (at)wirelizard(dot)bsky(dot)social over on the other newer place apparently run by a less-destructively unhinged billionaire...

Here in Apartheid Failson's Nazi Bar apparently what's plaguing other remaining users is pornbots. What I get is cryptospam. Mostly I'm over at the blue sky place these days.

When faced with the options of breaking the law to actually keep myself safer on the road or obey the law and being in danger, as a cyclist, I will 100% of the time break the law and I won’t debate this.

Beautiful top level trolling. So many avid drivists in the comments.
Why do these slow moving vehicles not pull over to let the faster moving vehicles past?

Useful advice for @GoVern2018 and @VictoriaNews for next time ol' Vernie slams into an entirely obvious stationary object.
Advice for news reporters ➡️ Use this headline next time a traffic calming structure does the thing it was designed to do.

Protective infrastructure doing what it is supposed to do, keeping bad drivers out of bike lanes, is indeed chill as hell, Vern. Good of you to notice.
Getting high centred on a poorly planned bike lane @ Gorge/Tillicum is ‘chill as hell’.

Also, welcome to Bike Twitter, @GoVern2018. Your ratio is already glorious and the quote tweet dunks are epic. You might need to go for a nice relaxing bike ride after this.

Drivers, Dismantle your car radios and cut off your roofs so you can hear what is going on around you. You need to stop killing five people a day. If we have to stay alert, so should you.
Cyclists, Stop wearing earphones and pay attention to the bloody road. You need spatial awareness to stay alert. Especially when you're cycling alongside cars. If we have to stay alert, so should you.

It is always a good day to retweet this clip. Always.

I'm not religious, but the Catholic pantheon of saints for every purpose fascinates me for some reason, and of course there is a patron saint of bicycles.
Today I learned that the Madonna del Ghisallo, the patron saint of bicyclists, is a thing, and there are a lot of cool pics of her. <thread>
OK, this is cool. An *exact* year for the NFLD Norse settlement.

Thanks to evidence of an ancient solar storm found in tree rings, researchers were able to date the exact year of the earliest Viking settlement in Newfoundland. smithsonianmag.com/science-n…

The very first trans person I ever met (who I knew was trans, obvs) was because of Pratchett fandom meetups in Vancouver around 1999/2000ish. TERFs can go to hell, and they may not claim Sir Terry.
They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance. Equal Rites #TransRightsAreHumanRights

She wondered, to about half a dozen of us, if we would be offended if she came as, well, herself, and offered to present as male if we would be uncomfortable. Every single person on that thread replied that she should come as she wanted. We had a lovely lunch meet at Steamworks.

We had a second in-person meetup a few months later and I stayed with her and her partner one night. Long ago lost track of them, but I hope she and her partner continue to do well.
Utterly glorious. Seen these, @Burgundavia & @edwardp ?

Ask and ye shall receive, the YYJ Cycling Cult is turning your children away from God and toward protected bike lanes. An incredibly specific bulk order of stickers commissioned for @EliseVelaz9. If you want to troll @AJWVictoriaBC or any other neo-lib DM us, we're here for you

A long over due vital stretch of protected infrastructure now open! A route is only as good as it's gaps, so great to see this gap closed. (don't go read the comments on the original post, they're mostly whinging from stupid avid drivists...)
Minor construction work is ongoing but the 2-way protected bike lane & new crosswalk on Harbour Rd are open for use! Later this month, we’ll announce the official opening. Until then, follow public health advice on outdoor activity & enjoy these features once the air clears.

hey @Burgundavia top right and centre right should feed your ego a bit. ;-)
