i see alot of back and forth from the cardano community talking about why building the wormhole interop connection is required when there are already existing rails
the simple analogy i can offer is - if there is a major city like new york or london - is there only one major airport servicing that city? or only one major airline servicing routes from everywhere to that city?
if yes, i urge you to think about what the impact of that happening would have been - it would impact imports, exports, tourists and so much more
additionally, limited routes may lead to limited innovation opportunities for those who want to come and establish routes in that city and help that region flourish with new opportunities like jobs etc but are unable to
in case of wormhole, wormhole technology is adopted by the biggest institutions in the space like blackrock, apollo global, van eck, hamilton lane etc etc - these institutions prefer wormhole's security mechanism and the guardian network
they prefer to know who the validators are on the interop network that facilitates their multichain transfers - with these guardian validators being some of the biggest validators in the space including hashkey, figment, chorus one etc etc
limiting the cardano ecosystem to only existing interop solutions is the equivalent of saying no to such partners that may want to participate in the cardano ecosystem
humanity has progressed throughout the course of time with advancements in connectively be it the shipping network, the mail network, the telephone, social media, airlines etc etc
enabling choice and preference should be the number one focus of an ecosystem that wants to progress by design and innovative by example
what I struggle to reconcile is DReps like
@yutazzz,
@phil_uplc and others state that they want greater Cardano adoption, that defi is the key vertical for this
But then go vote no on the wormhole proposal…
Please help me make sense of this
