STOP USING FEMINISM AS A SHIELD FOR TRANSPHOBIA. Gah, I'm so sick of coming on twitter and seeing "feminist" posts that are actually TERFy BS. As a cis woman my rights are in danger from transphobic bigots applying narrow definitions to womanhood, not from trans women!

As A Doctor, I Don’t Fear Covid As I Once Did. Or Cholera. Or Ebola. Or Anything At All, Actually, Come To Think Of It. I Wonder If Something Has Damaged The Part Of My Brain That Handles Risk Assessment.

Covid infections can weaken your immune system. That is established science, not speculation. Vaccines did not cause it. Vaccines did not fully stop it. Repeat infections can make it worse. Denying this is not caution or balance, it is science denial. Stop catching Covid. Stop spreading it.

I've been predicting it for years, and it's now exactly what we're seeing: More outbreaks of disease. Larger outbreaks of disease. Worse impacts of disease. It's exactly what you would expect when a larger proportion of the population have weakened immune systems.

This is super important. The UK government are having it both ways again. They spent years denying that Covid was spread through the air. And now they're saying that Hantavirus doesn't spread through the air the way Covid does, as if that's what they said all along. <screams>
So hantavirus is different because it isn't transmissible JUST THROUGH THE AIR, unlike COVID, which spreads in the air in a bus or on a train? But the COVID Inquiry was told COVID spreads by droplet and contact? @GOVUK urged caution and to rely on @UKHSA so what's changed now?

Months?? For those of us left severely Disabled by COVID, isolation has lasted SIX YEARS AND COUNTING. And no, that's not nothing. We can't even safely access medical care. But everyone seems to think that Disabled folks should endure house arrest for ever.
Isolation isn’t nothing. And it was months

If you're concerned about Andes Hantavirus transmission, don't take advice from people who have spent the last six years demonstrating that they have *zero* understanding of airborne transmission.

If there was just one single lesson we should have learned from covid, it's that people don't understand airborne pathogen transmission. We should have learned that and then taught everyone how airborne transmission works and how to stop it.

Quarantining during a public health threat is not a punishment. It’s not a violation of your freedoms. It’s part of being in a society. You do not have the right to spread a dangerous and deadly disease to others. Robust public health measures save lives.

I met up with a long time friend this week and his first words to me were "you look really well". I do. And I feel healthier than I have in two decades. I feel great. I've had nearly six and a half years without infection. He looked *awful*. 😥 The last time I had seen him was four years ago when he still looked OK, and his first words to me that day were, "you're not still wearing one of those things, are you?" 😔

Genuine answer: It's amazing that you don't know the pandemic hasn't ended and that every child of this age has been repeatedly infected with Covid. And that Covid infections cause problems with neurological development and cognitive function.

So the students at the University of Kent meningitis outbreak are queuing for *antibiotics* not vaccines, according to Sky. So we are looking at an outbreak of *bacterial* meningitis. And what did I say might be this winter's breakout bacterium? BACTERIAL MENINGITIS.

And then into your bloodstream... and brain... I sincerely hope that this one isn't this winter's breakout bacterium. Neisseria Meningitidis.

That means ALL public spaces. Even if you’re the only person masking (or the only family masking) in an entire Theme Park! It’s not just being an “ally” but these days, it’s better for prevention against chronic diseases than exercise.

The best way to be a true ally for us LC sufferers is MASK in all public spaces.

Sending so much love & solidarity today to everyone who is still forced to live in isolation in a world filled w/ people pretending the pandemic is over. It’s hard to fathom that we’ve been at this for 6 years now—I couldn’t have made it this far w/o the support of this community
