if you really need a fix of specifically "adventures of a magical little boy": may i recommend magyk by angie sage. it's YA about magic inspired by english folklore, and it's better than harry potter! please cut harry potter out of your diet. theres better out there

if you want something a little more challenging to read but still Adventures of English Magic Guy then check out jonathan strange and mr. norrell. even the extremely specific niche of this has tons of options That Aren't Harry Potter
