Last day of our wonderful Finland trip. This Hawk Owl was top of my list to see. Great grey owl and ural owl were pretty impressive too. Tengmalms and pygmy owl also. A pair Pine Grosbeak, siberian Tit and siberian jay all seen well. Brilliant trip. #Birding #Finland #Owls

Nice fall of Whinchats with at least 4 birds around oglet this morning. This female performed superbly in a rape seed field. A Sedge warbler, 2 cetti's,2 willow warbler, 3 yellow wagtails, 1 white wagtail, 4 rook, 3 whimbrel and 20 plus wheatears also #Birding #Merseyside #Oglet

A trip down to Oglet this morning to look for migrants. Ploughed fields by yew tree farm had 9 wheatears and a female redstart . Coastal path had a flock of wagtails 6 white wags and 3 yellow wags. 2 Willow warblers, a whitethroat and loads of blackcap also

Surveying in Drayton, Oxfordshire last week I had this Peregrine feeding on a Linnet atop of a pylon. A blue coloured ring HB on its left leg. Found out its a male and was ringed in Bath, Somerset in May 2024. #Birding #Oxfordshire #Peregrine

Delighted the Kumliens Gull has returned to the Mersey sandbanks again for the 4th year running . In adult plumage now. Unfortunately it has lost the lower left leg but seems fit and healthy. Leucistic Herring Gull and 1st w Caspian Gull also #Birding #Cheshire #Gulls #Kumliens

A quick stop at the WSR on my way to Wonderful Wales produced a 1st winter Caspian Gull. At the River Clwyd manged good views of the Lesser Yellowlegs and lastly got lucky at Llanddulas for the Surf Scoter after dipping at fishermans pier. Great day #Birding #Wales #Cheshire

The Clouded Tiger Cat seen today in the western Andes, Colombia at 2700 metres. Incredible to see this beautiful creature which was only recently described in 2024. Not much bigger than a domestic cat and lives in the cloud forest #cloudedtigercat #cats #Colombia
