ok so they mixed up the images. but it's still NOT FUNNY that this police officer ordered a cold refreshing sparkling water and it was served to him with a napkin in it

This is a Molotov Cocktail that was found at tonight’s protest. We are committed to ensuring everyone’s right to protest. Violence has no place in civic demonstration. These actions will never be tolerated & anyone bringing weapons or dangerous substances will be arrested.
Community note
While these materials could technically be used in the making of a molotov cocktail, this picture does not show a molotov cocktail, or provide evidence that one was made. US Army Field Manual No. 21-75 provides information about molotov cocktails proving this. globalsecurity.org/military/libra…

A jury has found British pop star Ed Sheeran NOT LIABLE of copyright infringement in a lawsuit accusing him of copying Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” in his song “Thinking About You.” More TK.

nice that it's laid out so clearly: one more cost of dedicating all this public urban space to car storage is living with garbage and rats
*NEW* Could New York City finally get trash containerization like other big cities across the globe? The Adams administration says it’s possible, but would require losing 150,000 parking spots: nyti.ms/41YFrYF

funny how that article refers to potentially "sacrificing" the parking spots and not the sacrifices we all make to subsidize the spots in the first place

personally it does not feel like much of a sacrifice to exchange car storage for actual quality-of-life improvements? maybe we can rig up some of the garbage containers to randomly blast alarm sounds in the middle of the night for the people who miss that

it should go without saying but waffling erratically like this creates a pretty untenable environment for public utilities, even if twitter eventually lands in the "right" place
One of the most important use cases for the Twitter API has always been public utility. Verified gov or publicly owned services who tweet weather alerts, transport updates and emergency notifications may use the API, for these critical purposes, for free.

I learned about an especially cursed but useful-to-me microtransit option from the @milesintransit1 thread on riding between DC and Boston, so don't let anyone tell you those trips aren't educational
