I canceled a date yesterday evening because I just wasn’t feeling it. I had a long day, low energy, and zero social battery. I texted him politely, saying I needed to stay in and recharge. He replied with a simple “Got you.” Cool. End of story… I thought. Around 8 p.m., I heard a knock. Actually, it was more like a full-on delivery parade. First, a guy showed up with flowers. Then another with a paper bag from a pharmacy (basic self-care stuff I’d mentioned needing weeks ago and forgotten about). Then food from a small place near my office that I love but rarely visit. I stood at my door like I’d accidentally subscribed to premium life support. I finally called him like, “Why are there multiple people at my door?” And he’s like……..
