The Yankees have the most wins in the AL despite: - Judge missing 2 weeks - Cole missed ~10 starts - Rodon missed ~8 starts - Fried has been out a month - Stanton has missed 44 games - Jasson missed 5 weeks Most teams don’t survive this amount of missed time from these guys

And now he’s hurt. 💔 Looks like he tweaked something before he got to the bag so that’s not good at all. Only silver lining is Dominguez is almost back and Jones looks so much better but damn man Grisham has been playing so great for a month .

Two of my biggest pet peeves in baseball: - striking out looking with a runner on 3rd less than 2 outs - allowing a lead off walk immediately after your offense scores

Bump
Without looking it up at all, it just feels like Ryan Weathers gets absolutely barreled consistently. Shouldn’t be any real debate between him and Warren once Fried is back.

Great road sweep! - Rodon with another QS. 1.96 ERA over his last 4 starts - Grisham continues to rake. Hitting .296/.382/.454 last 30 games - Yankees pen leads MLB in fWAR this month - Cabby is such a player! - Most wins in the AL - Reinforcements on the way Vibes 🆙

Volpe is now 3 for his last 25 with 1 BB in his last 9 games. Had some uncompetitive walks vs the Mets and the big hit vs KC, but the bat is back to looking as abysmal as it has every year. The glove isn’t good enough to offset it imo.

I am going insane watching these McMahon / Wells atbats back to back. I know McMahon had the big hit last game and randomly hits a clutch HR every few weeks but it feels like these two are a guaranteed 6-8 outs every single game.

Aaron Judge being out 4-6 weeks really sucks. No doubt about it. It could’ve been a lot worse though. This team has a much higher floor than previous years with the rotation being so good so I don’t expect the bottom to fall out. Need Stanton and Dominguez back. We’ll be fine.

This was on 5/3. Aaron Judge through 5/3 (150 PA): • .264/.403/.628 • 182 wRC • 13 HR • .454 xwOBA Aaron Judge since 5/4 (111 PA): • .226/.336/.409 • 105 wRC • 4 HR • .362 xwOBA Obviously sucks that he’s hurt and hope he’s back asap but I’m actually relieved by this.
Was probably this play

Trent Grisham defensive stats since last season, coming into today: • -4 OAA • -13 DRS • -5 FRV (last among all qualified CF) • -8.4 DWAR (last among all qualified CF) His bat will be fine. This defensive regression is a major concern.

He’ll make some smooth looking diving plays (that a good CF prob doesn’t need to dive for), but make no mistake, he’s been one of the worst defense centerfielders in MLB since last year. Thought we’d see some positive regression after the hamstring injury last year, but nope..
