The most important changes in v0.17.0 focus on developer integration and tooling: Unified SDK: Revamped zisk-sdk as the single entry point for all proving workflows, Local or remote. Full end-to-end pipeline with support for streaming inputs and hints via ZiskStream. zisklib 1.0: Release with expanded cryptographic primitives, extended arithmetic capabilities, and strong FFI support. Distributed Proving: Rearchitected coordinator with a clean gRPC proving API for remote clients and complete lifecycle management.

Additional highlights: Core & Performance: Keccak & SHA-256 moved to libc, accelerated arith256 operations (new mulmod256 API), optimized Keccak-f, and improved shared memory reuse. Cryptography: Added BIP-340 Schnorr on secp256k1, strengthened BLS12-381 validation, and full BLAKE2 constraints. ZKVM & Accelerators: Full conformance with the zkVM accelerator C interface, exposed FFI APIs, and proper lifecycle support (zkvm_init / zkvm_deinit). This release marks a major leap in usability, integration, and production readiness for ZisK. Full release notes: github.com/0xPolygonHermez/z…

Ethereum's fragmentation problem just got its most serious answer yet. The Ethereum Economic Zone, led by Gnosis and ZisK, funded by the EF. The goal: SYNCHRONOUS composability for the L1 and its L2s, so one transaction can execute cleanly across multiple chains. > Right now your coins on L2s can't interact with contracts on L1 or other L2s without bridging. Costs money, costs time, fragments liquidity. The EEZ ends that > Rollups plugged into the EEZ can call contracts on L1 or other L2s and receive a response in a SINGLE transaction. It feels like you're using one chain > This doesn't require any Ethereum protocol-level changes. The entire system runs on smart contracts real-time ZK proving > Gnosis isn't some unknown team. They built CoW Protocol, Safe multisigs, the Conditional Tokens format underpinning Polymarket, Gnosis Chain, Gnosis Pay. ZisK brings an efficient open-source zkVM for real-time proving > NO ONE owns the stack. The EF is funding this as credibly neutral shared infrastructure. Free and open source for all Imagine an Aave position on Ethereum interacting with a Uniswap pool on Unichain in a single transaction. That'd be beautiful. That's the EEZ.

The missing piece was real-time proving. @ziskvm brings it.
Welcome to the Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ), a framework for synchronously composable rollups. What does that mean? One deployment. Shared liquidity. Single transactions across L1 & L2. Identity verified anywhere. Smart wallets connected everywhere. No additional trust assumptions. This means L2s that are as credibly neutral, economically aligned, and publicly governed as the base layer itself. EEZ furthers Ethereum as the leading decentralized economy.

We are partnering with @gateway_eth to support the next phase of rollup infrastructure. Gateway is building with performance at the forefront from day one. We’re bringing low-latency, quantum-safe security, and distributed proving to match. Fully open source. Built for production-grade ZK systems.
We’re teaming up with @ziskvm. As we scale rollups, proving latency and cost aren’t side concerns, they’re core constraints. Z ZisK delivers low-latency, distributed proving with 128-bit quantum-resistant security, so performance can scale without proving becoming the bottleneck. This only gets more critical with every rollup we launch.

Real-time proving makes synchronous composability practical. With ZisK, rollups can interact within the same block — no async bridges, no waiting. This is how we move toward a truly composable multi-rollup Ethereum. youtu.be/1PRnm4qomKA?si=yd0g…
