A good start might be creating clarity around “jailbreak” risk scoring similar to CVSS severity scores. “Jailbreak” is an overused term… some “jailbreaks” are LLM Advil and other “jailbreaks” are LLM Heroin. Also (IMO) labs should reward / celebrate discovery of novel methods.
Lots of people have known for a while that guardrails for frontier model APIs are very easily jailbroken, quite shallow and impossible to fix. They’re mostly a smokescreen and distraction, in my opinion. We need a different paradigm for AI safety!

Anthropic already does identify verification for “age assurance” (support.claude.com/en/articl…) so they should be able to restore access to Fable pretty fast for US citizens.

We pitched for Figma's seed round in 2013. Most folks didn't get it but everyone I met was super nice to me. (It helps to go through warm intros and only meet people that are known to be founder friendly.)

I was once pitching in a board room at a top 3 VC firm for a $15M Series A.
12 people in the meeting. One of the GPs fully fell asleep. Out cold for 30 minutes. Nobody acknowledged it. Everyone just kept going.
I kept presenting my Series A slides to an unconscious man in a Herman Miller chair and somehow that was considered normal. That's venture capital.
You might fly across the country to perform for people who may or may not be conscious.
It's a dance.
And sometimes you lead and sometimes you follow and sometimes your partner is unconscious.
If you're raising right now, just know: every founder has a story like this. The process is weird. The power dynamic is weird. You're not crazy for thinking it's weird.
No one talks about it because they want to continue raising. But I'm happy to stick my neck out there.

ALT Together, we mourn design—killed, according to X, approximately 847 times this year alone. And yet, no matter how many times we declare design is dead, it is alive. Design is everywhere, quietly thriving in the clarity of the subway map when you fear you have missed your stop, in the legibility of the dinner menu even when you aren't sure if sorrel is a vegetable or a new pasta shape, and in the dopamine-releasing notification that a meeting has been cancelled. Design doesn't die. It is not a trend to be disrupted or a technology to be replaced. It's the difference between caring about how something makes you feel, not just if it works. So here's to design—endlessly declared gone, endlessly proving everyone wrong.
