Dear US government, Since you've just blocked Fable and Mythos on critical national security grounds, here are some other tools that pose a similar threat to the American people: - Microsoft Teams - SAP - Salesforce - Jira - Outlook Please do what you must to save America 🇺🇸
‼️🚨 BREAKING: Amazon researchers snitched to the US government about jailbreaking Fable 5 and Mythos 5, forcing Anthropic to immediately shut down worldwide access. A security export control directive from Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick enforced the action. Anthropic is fighting the directive and calls it a misunderstanding. This isn't the first clash. The Trump administration had already tried to get Anthropic to pause the release of its latest models before this directive landed.

To avoid any misunderstandings based on the post headline, fixes for the vulnerabilities were rolled out in under 24 hours. Thanks for the private reports @1440000bytes.

Recently @1440000bytes is building, finding and reporting serious bugs in several privacy projects. Maybe, this time you should donate and support his work.

Is it possible that the CTO of Anthropic won't have access to Fable and Mythos?

AI doesn't create vulnerabilities, it discovers what is already there. The safest thing we can be doing is to make them easy to see, so they can be fixed. It is only children that believe closing your eyes will make you invisible.

Mining coinjoin transactions could become a national security issue for US government in future. Foundry is a bigger problem than Antpool and friends.

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Without mixnets it’s not private from any adversary that can watch actual data transfers on the network layer. And all TEEs have an admin key.

Other privacy projects love to flex the volume, proof of reserves etc. I'm working on joinstr v2 that would make coinjoin transactions look the same as other transactions. - No volume stats - No taint - No exchanges will be able to freeze deposits

The main reason I didn't merge privatebroadcast to @BitcoinKnots, was that I judged it to be underreviewed and prone to bugs. Since Core merged it in January, there were several followup fixes proving I was right, even before 31.0 was released. They went ahead and released it anyway.
We have become aware of a privacy bug in the -privatebroadcast feature, newly introduced in Bitcoin Core 31.0, that may cause the originator’s IP address to be revealed to the receiving peer under certain network conditions. A fix is forthcoming and will be released with 31.1.
