“The @EHRC guidance provides a clear rationale for universities to embrace anonymous reporting by staff as well as students, urging them to ‘consider introducing an online or externally run telephone reporting system that allows workers to make complaints on either a named or anonymous basis’.” – @anna_bull_@1752Grouptimeshighereducation.com/blo…

We are campaigning to get universities to join the Misconduct Disclosure Scheme, to share information about ongoing or upheld disciplinary cases on sexual misconduct with new employers.
This step will help demonstrate that they are fulfilling the preventative duty.
“The new guidance also notes employers’ responsibility to avoid ‘passing the harasser’ on, reminding existing employers of their ‘duty not to provide a misleading or inaccurate reference to a potential employer’.” – @anna_bull_@1752Grouptimeshighereducation.com/blo…
The UK's new 'preventative duty' for sexual harassment came into effect a couple of weeks ago.
This applies to all employers and staff.
If you want to know some of the implications of this in HE, take a look at article from The 1752 Group's @anna_bull_ below.
The UK’s new prevention duty could move the dial on sexual harassment in #HE: the rules should quash the idea that a formal investigation is the only way universities can take action on disclosures or rumours of abuse by staff, says @anna_bull_ of the @1752Groupbit.ly/3UIZxoh
