In a small way, I fear that not saying "thank you!" to LLMs after they do some work for me (in light of knowledge that this is costly to the companies offering the service) is going to make me inadvertently express less gratitude to humans too.

California tries to make the life of nonprofits very hard with annual filing requirements.
You have to file similar reports and pay fees for filing not just to the IRS, but to the Secretary of State, the Franchise Tax Board, and the Department of Justice all separately

This doesn’t even include private nonprofit associations and listings that keep charging at you with semi legal looking filing requirements and fees. Pretending that those are necessary to maintain status.

You have to submit the same exact info to all these orgs. Different websites, different submission systems (many require post) and lots of silly fees.

This is so unnecessary and stupid you’d imagine this exists most because of broken communication systems or because of some nonprofit paper pusher mafia lobbyists who want job security.
This probably does more harm in bringing down small nonprofits than catching fraud

The crazy part is all these entities individually have the power to destroy an org’s tax exempt status. And they harrass you with mailers to that effect. There is just no way to avoid falling behind and becoming delinquent and targeted by them.
