The study, published today in @NatureNeuro, involved over 3.4 million cells from 84 brains. Donors ranged from those with advanced Alzheimer’s dementia to unimpaired subjects without evidence of AD.

Whole, healthy human brain data is now on the ABC Atlas!
Dataset incl. 3 million cells sampled from dissections from adult donors. Samples underwent snRNA sequencing and were clustered and categorized by neurotransmitter, region, and more.

With @awscloud, the @AllenInstitute is mapping the whole human brain and creating the largest open-source brain cell database in the world. The team is looking to leverage generative AI services like Amazon Bedrock to integrate foundation models into this first-of-its-kind platform to advance treatment for brain disorders. A true example of how #AI and #ML will change lives for the better.
