Lmao, nope, In Legends Bobba Fett killed a man explicitly for raping his wife. Also remember Dark Forces 2? Sariss? Canonically raped by her own father and his fellow prophets. And these are not even close to the only examples.

All of these celebrities and politicians suddenly parroting all the same pro-AI lines is not a coincidence.
The industry knows how unpopular they are with the people so they’re spending millions to mislead us and keep candidates who will fight to regulate them out of office.

The far left’s new war on AI is deeply misguided, and my community and other communities of color will pay the price.
While countries around the world are preparing their young people for the jobs and technologies of the future, some here would rather bury their heads in the sand than equip our children with the skills they need to succeed in a world that is already changing.
We must push back against this fear-driven approach and ensure our communities are not left behind once again. The future belongs to those who prepare for it, not those who pretend it isn’t coming.

Anyway, this type of discourse has gotten annoying. So, here is a handy list of everything Filoni has actually written or directed for Star Wars directly. Anything not listed he had a more advisory role. Now maybe we can all be more accurate with both are praises and critiques.

Dunking on Filoni has kinda reached the point where some of it is just willfull double standards. Part of the reason Fordo from 03 is so well remembered is cause he is the only character in the series to use actual tactics. Everyone else just does mass wave attacks.

That's twice now. First Daki tells Devon to comply with the cops because they're sure to be reasonable. And now Drea tells Rylee to comply with the Imperials because they're there to help. Neither of which is true.
It's almost like Filoni is saying something.
Maul is more in the lineage of noir films than cop shows. Noir deals with cops extensively, but the reality of police violence & corruption and their role as protectors of capital are always at the forefront. I could be wrong, but after two eps, the cracks in the TDF are showing.

With everyone rightly saddened by Jorge Gutierrez' choices, I wanted to highlight @djaxx's "The Worlds Divide" an entire 2 hour movie he created single handily without any GenAI. I have seen it and can't wait till the general public can to, its something REALLY special #animation

Unfortunately, he is correct. Use of Gen AI is already adopted in many major studios.
BUT I think hiding behind “everyone’s doing it” is a beyond lame and shitty excuse. We should be collectively fighting against the normalization of this tech being integrated in our pipeline

If you're any kind of creator, listen to me.
You do not need AI to create 2D or 3D animation or art. Honestly, you dont even need to know HOW to animate yourself. Sometimes, all you need is an idea, a vision, patience, and the right artist who can bring that vision to life. And if you cant afford an artist yet, thats okay too. You can always learn, practice, fail, and improve yourself so that way you can spearhead your own projects. Another option is also just saving your money so you can "indie" fund your project.
I’ve done both. Ive hired animators, and Ive also learned how to do it myself because, honestly, I got tired of waiting on people. I got tired of being disappointed by speed, quality, communication, or work ethic.
Personally for me, at some point, it became a "Fine ill do it myself" type of situation and literally "picked up the pencil" myself.
And I did. It took years. A lot of frustration, a lot of late nights, a lot of self doubt, but every step forward came from actually showing up for myself and my work. No shortcuts. Not pretending im an animator. actually being one. Not letting a machine, make my journey FOR me. What drives me is passion, discipline, and doing the work over and over again because I love animation. The best part is looking back and seeing that my work improved because of ME. Because I kept going. because I gave enough of a shit to get better, thats real human growth, no AI needed. You can do it too. Start from nothing. become something.
