SS Beta tested a mRNA vaccine design challenge by @3DMolDesigns w/ my own twist. SS modeled mRNA from SarsCOV2 Spike protein & published vaccine seq. Noting sim & diff. Using a structural RNA simulator, we ex the SHAPES of the unmod. mRNA & w pseudouridine! @STANYSorg @NYSMTP

One thing I like about the Institute for Protein Design, in Seattle, is that they display models of their prior achievements at the entrance.
More research centers should have a "trophy room," just like sports teams. It may help students think more ambitiously, etc.

Took a slight detour on my way back to Chicago from Oshkosh, & was warmly welcomed by Diane & Tim Herman of @3DMolDesigns where I was initially baptized in the art of engaging student learning of the molecular world underlying life! It was great to catch up! I’ll be back!
